Gostei muito do ambiente tipo caseiro, da gentileza dos proprietários que fazem o hóspede se sentir em casa, além do mais os donos falam fluentemente o inglês, o que é bom para estrangeiros.

A fantastic break from the hustle and bustle of Ipanema/Copacabana/Leblon!

We had a lovely stay! Stuart and Mauricio were excellent hosts - very attentive and willing to speak with us while also very sensitive to whether we wanted to interact or do our own thing. They were even kind enough to offer us a ride to Ipanema, as they were heading in that direction, too. Their dogs were an extra bonus - two sweet little hosts in their own right!

Nothing! If I had to make one observation, I'd recommend describing the rooms' differentiators in more detail. When we booked, there were two rooms left to choose from. They were both lovely rooms, but the one I didn't pick was on a higher floor and therefore would have been the one to get since we prioritize the view. The one I did select was the one to get if we had prioritized privacy, since it stood alone with no neighbors. To be fair, the room descriptions had different photos, but until I saw the property in person I didn't conceptualize the difference, so perhaps describing each room's strengths (and relative floors) could avoid confusion for future guests. Otherwise, we had a perfect stay!

We were made to feel so welcome and the house is lovely. Our hosts also helped us to organise taxis and trips. If I were to return to Rio I would definitely stay again. It was nice to venture a little west of Rio and see Sao conrado beach.

Stuart and Mauricio were the most hospitable and entertaining hosts I've ever encountered. They went the extra mile with everything and I felt like I was staying with friends. The freshly baked coffee cakes in the morning were a real treat and my room was large, airy and comfortable. Their two miniature Schnauzers were a delight and I enjoyed playing with them. Although the guesthouse is in the city, it's in a neighborhood that feels like the country and is away from the The hustle and bustle. Yet it's easy to get to anywhere in Rio as taxis are very inexpensive. This is how a guest house should be run. After four days I was sad to leave.

Casa Verde is a hidden jewel nestled in the Tijuca Rainforest. It is ideally located at the base of Pedra Bonita, just above São Conrado beach and around the bend from Pedra da Gávea. Since the Pedra da Gávea, Tijuca Forest and road to Alto de Boa Vista, are our family’s favorite attractions in all of Rio, Casa Verde was heaven on earth for us! As a party of three “senior citizen” couples from the U.S., security was a “top priority” for us. Casa Verde is located in a safe neighborhood, tucked into its own gated property. Security is not an issue. As current residents of São Paulo, living in city apartments, one of the couples of our group commented that our two-night stay in Casa Verde was the best they have slept since arriving in Brazil! Although located on Estrada das Canoas, there is very little traffic, especially at night. No noise! Sleeping in the cool, oxygen-rich forest air and waking up to the sounds of Tucanos and Parrots was definitely a bonus not found in other Rio accommodations. The highlight of our two-night stay at Casa Verde was the hospitality extended to us by Stuart and Mauricio. These two creative, talented, charming B&B co-owners have done an incredible job of converting a tropical mountain property gem into what feels like a Frank Loyd Wright masterpiece. We thoroughly enjoyed their home and hospitality. In summary, our two-night stay in Casa Verde, was more like a visit to the home of close family than staying in a traditional B&B. Casa Verde is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The location, accommodations and owners are exceptional. The breakfast (featuring Mauricio’s cakes) and the Snausers were icing on the cake!

Não sei o que é mais incrível, se é a gentileza e simpatia dos donos, a vista ou a casa. Se for do desejo sair e conhecer a cidade, com certeza ficarão maravilhados. Se estiverem cansados e preferirem ficar na pousada, mais uma vez ficarão maravilhados.

He viajado a muchos lugares, pero en pocos me he sentido tan en casa como en A Casa Verde. Realmente los dueños son unos anfitriones insuperables. Te sientes en casa, aunque estés a miles de km. Todo es perfecto, la habitación, las zonas comunes, el ambiente, el desayuno.....realmente insuperable. Muchísimas gracias a Stuart y Mauricio por su profesionalidad y saber hacer y por dejarnos tener un check out hasta bien entrado el día siguiente. A Casa Verde está apartada del centro, pero por 30 reales accedes al corazón de la ciudad en 10 minutos en taxi y disfrutas de la tranquilidad y silencio que supone estar en un parque nacional. No lo pienses, dudo que haya un sitio mejor en Río para sentirse en casa lejos del hogar.

Adorei o estabelecimento, mais ainda os donos da pousada, que realmente nos fizeram sentir em casa. Decoração belíssima, ambiente aconchegante, uma paisagem diferente, e ainda mais bela, de cada local da casa, e um café da manhã de primeira. Há promessa de um estacionamento próprio em breve. Vale a pena conferir!

Primeiramente agradecemos nos amigos Mauricio e Stuart em nos receber em sua casa com sua simplicidade e carisma, fomos incrivelmente surpreendidos pela maravilhosa hospitalidade e atenção. Local aconchegante com decoração de muito bom gosto e com uma bela vista para a floresta. Fácil acesso as Praias da Barra, Ipanema, Copacabana e São Conrado, excelente....eu e minha familia VOLTAREMOS ESTE ANO CONSERTEZA....... Obrigado Ivandro, Denise, Igor e Enzo.
